What is going to distinguish you from the other millions of people with the same recording gear? It's much harder to use your virtuosity to distinguish yourself. Plenty of people can play really well. Plenty of people CAN'T be where you were and feeling exactly what you felt at the second you poured your heart into the song. If you can get that in there then it just might be the X-factor that puts it all over the top.
